New Jersey Health Foundation was established in 2002 as the parent company of The Foundation of UMDNJ to provide flexibility for a broad educational and research mission and to assure that gifts to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey continue to be used as designated by each donor.
New Jersey Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in Delaware and meets the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code as a public charity. All gifts to the Foundation of UMDNJ and other New Jersey Health Foundation affiliates are directed to the New Jersey Health Foundation and are then distributed to the designated programs and services. The Foundation is an independent organization with its own operating procedures, an autonomous board of directors and an extremely strong financial position due to expert guidance by the Finance and Executive Committees of the Board of Directors and
outside financial managers who invest our board-designated funds.
